We highly recommend hiring a driver for getting around in Colombia. Service can be unreliable in the mountains, so Google Maps may not always work. Having a Spanish-speaking driver as a guide is especially helpful if you don’t speak the language. Many hotels can arrange transportation for you, as well. Drivers are typically paid in cash.
